Summer Fitness
Visit http://www.unh.edu/hr/pod/pdfs/CampusRec_Jun08_schedule.pdf for the
summer fitness programs being offered by Campus Recreation. Many of the June
classes are free to Hamel Recreation Center members. Non-members can pay a
daily guest fee of $5 to enter the building/outdoor pool and then take the
classes for free. On July 1, the fee goes to $10.

WSBE Farewell Reception
A farewell reception for Bill Naumes, associate professor of strategic management,
and George Abraham, director of graduate and executive programs, will be held
Thursday, June 5, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the New England Center. Light refreshments
will be served. RSVP to Maureen.Marshall@unh.edu or 2-1983 no later than May
30.
Eating On Campus - Summer Hours
Holloway Commons will be open Monday – Friday from
6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.; 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The MUB food court (Union Court) and Zeke’s Café in the Dimond
Library will be open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
World Tragedies: How You Can Help
In light of the two recent international tragedies, the cyclone in Myanmar
and earthquake in central China, the Office of International Students and Scholars
is passing along this information to you:

those affected by the Myanmar (Burma) cyclone, UNICEF is offering aid inside
that country, and you can find further information

If you are looking for a way to help those affected
by the Chinese earthquake, the UNH Chinese Student and Scholar Association

Farewell Celebration
A farewell party for Mary Peterson, Editorial and Creative
Services, Douglas Prince, Photographic Services and Ron Bergeron, Photographic
Services will
be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2008 from 3:30 – 5:00 in the 1925 Room
at the Elliott Alumni Center. Light refreshments will be served.
Weight Watchers Open House May 30
Faculty and staff can get information on the Weight Watchers program during
an open house Friday, May 30, at noon in the field house, room 38. Interested
participants will be able to sign up for the next series of meetings, which
will be held on Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. in the same location. The cost
is $144 for 12 weeks. Employees with Harvard Pilgrim medical insurance can
be reimbursed through the health education benefit.
Staff Development Grants Available
The deadline to apply for a Staff Professional Development Grant is June 1.
The maximum award is $750. No more than one grant will be awarded per person
during a 12- month period. This is calculated from the date of notification
of the previous grant.
The Staff Professional Development Grant Program provides the opportunity
for EE, OS, and PAT staff to attain new skills or knowledge in a manner that
will enhance a staff member's performance or eligibility for promotion and
be of specific benefit to the department, college, university and/or University
System.
Such opportunities might include:
- Conferences, workshops and seminars, both on and off campus
- Academic courses not offered within the University System
- Travel and accommodations for off campus courses, workshops, etc.
- Special projects, including but not limited to research and publication

Spring Greening
Free “Green Your Office” workshops are being offered by environmental
education graduate student Tessa Bensew, who brings a holistic approach to
saving energy in your office.
Bensew is offering 1-hour, 90-minute, or 2-hour workshops tailored to each
office's or department's needs, and will come to you. For more information

Massage Away End-of-Semester Stress
Health Services offers 50-minute massages with licensed massage therapists.
Treat yourself or give someone a gift certificate. (Gift certificates may only
be purchased for and used by current UNH students, faculty and staff).
Traditional massage: $35 student; $45 faculty and staff. Hot stone: $45 student;
$55 faculty and staff. Cash, credit card, check and Cats Cache accepted. To

Lactation Room Available
Dimond Library and the UNH President’s Commission on the Status of
Women would like to call attention to a lactation room that is available
in Dimond Library. This private room contains a hospital-grade Medela breast
pump, a gliding rocker, a refrigerator, and soft music. The room is designed
for nursing and milk expression. A key can be checked out at the main circulation
desk of the library. Please contact Pam Lehman at 2-1512 or the commission
