Nominations for President's Excellence through Diversity Award Sought

March 26, 2008

To: Staff, Faculty, and Students

From: Mark Huddleston, President

The Office of the President, in conjunction with the Office of the Vice Provost and Chief Diversity Officer, will present a faculty and staff award to individuals who have demonstrated excellence through outstanding leadership in promoting equity, advancing the status of under-represented groups, and serving as role models at UNH.

At this time, I am seeking nominations for the third annual 2008 President’s Excellence through Diversity Award of university faculty and staff members. The award recipients will be honored at the diversity banquet, to be held Saturday, May 3, from 6 – 9:30 p.m., Huddleston Hall ballroom.

Please help to recognize a deserving faculty and staff member for their campus and community leadership to create a more inclusive community by submitting your nominations on http://www.nominations.unh.edu, by April 11.

Criteria: nominees must be a full-time faculty or staff member with a minimum of three years of service who have "demonstrated excellence through outstanding leadership in promoting equity, advancing the status of under-represented groups, and serving as a role model at UNH and in the community.”

Previous President’s Excellence through Diversity Award recipients include Provost Bruce L. Mallory, professor David Watters, and vice president Mark Rubinstein. They were selected for their distinguished leadership and dedicated service in creating inclusive communities.
