Music Professor Receives Award in Excellence

Music professor David Seiler was recognized at the 15th annual New Hampshire
Excellence in Education Awards known as the “EDies” on June 7.
Director of jazz studies at UNH, Seiler was named the Distinguished Music Educator
of the Year by New Hampshire Music Educators' Association
The EDies pay tribute to teachers, administrators and volunteers throughout
the Granite Stare.
Seiler is a founder and director of the NH All-State Jazz Festival, the first
free-standing all-state jazz festival in the nation, and was director of the
N.H. Summer Youth Music School (SYMS) for 10 years. He is a founding member
of the UNH and the University of Idaho faculty woodwind quintets.
