Juried Art Exhibit for UNH Staff
The University Museum in Dimond Library announces a campus-wide staff arts
and fine crafts exhibition, “In the Company of Artists: Art and Fine
Crafts by UNH Staff” Sept. 26 through Dec. 5. Original art and fine crafts
in any media will be considered.
The deadline for entries is July 18. All full and part-time faculty and staff
(with the exception of studio arts faculty who have opportunities to exhibit
their work in the University Art Gallery) are eligible.
The number of works that can be exhibited is limited. Applicants may submit

Valerie Cunningham Reception June 12
A reception honoring Valerie Cunningham upon her retirement from UNH and
for receiving the 2008 Restore America Hero Award from the National Trust for
Historic Preservation/HGTV will be held June 12, at 6 p.m. in MUB Theatre 1.

ID Office Opening at Noon June 17
The ID Office, located on the second floor of Holloway Commons, will be opening
at noon on June 17. Regular hours (8 a.m. open) resume June 18.
UNH Dairy Barn Open June 21
Join Granite State Dairy Promotion’s Open Barn Day Saturday, June 21,
from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at UNH’s Dairy Barn. This free event will be held
rain or shine.
There will be a number of exhibits for you and your family to enjoy. Included
will be tours of the UNH dairy operation, visiting with the cows and calves,
horse drawn wagon rides, cow patty bingo, free milk and ice cream, butter making
for the kids, and samples of dairy products made here in New Hampshire.
The NH Radio Network will be on site to provide plenty of entertainment and
prizes.
Massage Away Summer Heat
Health Services will offer discounted 50-minute traditional massage therapy
with licensed massage therapists during summer break. $45/faculty and staff;
$35/students.

Register by June 27 for Discount on Autism Institute
The 10th Annual Autism Summer Institute will take place Aug. 11 through
Aug. 14 at Holloway Commons. Professionals who register by June 27 will receive
a discount rate of $349. After that date the cost is $399.

The institute takes place Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to

verification).

Summer Fitness

summer fitness programs being offered by Campus Recreation. Many of the June
classes are free to Hamel Recreation Center members. Non-members can pay a
daily guest fee of $5 to enter the building/outdoor pool and then take the
classes for free. On July 1, the fee goes to $10.

Eating On Campus - Summer Hours
Holloway Commons will be open Monday – Friday from
6:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.; 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
The MUB food court (Union Court) and Zeke’s Café in the Dimond
Library will be open Monday – Friday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
World Tragedies: How You Can Help
In light of the two recent international tragedies, the cyclone in Myanmar
and earthquake in central China, the Office of International Students and Scholars
is passing along this information to you:

Lactation Room Available
Dimond Library and the UNH President’s Commission on the Status of
Women would like to call attention to a lactation room that is available
in Dimond Library. This private room contains a hospital-grade Medela breast
pump, a gliding rocker, a refrigerator, and soft music. The room is designed
for nursing and milk expression. A key can be checked out at the main circulation
desk of the library. Please contact Pam Lehman at 2-1512 or the commission
