There’s still time to make a contribution to the winter food basket project spearheaded by the Cornucopia Food Pantry and the Thompson School’s leadership program. Baskets are being delivered today, Dec. 17, and tomorrow, Dec. 18.
More than 160 food baskets were distributed for Thanksgiving and the need is expected to be as great for the upcoming holidays. So far, according to Larry Brickner-Wood, executive director of the Waysmeet Center, organizers are far short of being able to meet the anticipated need.
It costs approximately $80 to put together one basket.
To make donations of food, money and/or gift certificates to local supermarkets, contact Lisa Ciccotelli at 2-0079 or Lisa.Ciccotelli@unh.edu or drop off your items at the Waysmeet Center, 15 Mill Lane, across from parking lot C. Toiletries and holiday treats are also welcome.
Checks can be made payable to the Cornucopia Food Pantry, and are tax deductible.
