Power Soccer is the first competitive team sport designed and developed specifically for people who user power wheelchairs. The sport combines wheelchair users’ skill with the speed and power of the chair itself. The game is played on a basketball court. Two teams of four power chair users attack, defend and spin-kick a 13” soccer ball in an attempt to score goals.
Northeast Passage started this team in 2007 to reach adults and youth with significant mobility impairments, giving them much needed access to physical activity and team camaraderie. This program reaches people living with quadriplegia, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, head trauma, stroke, muscular dystrophy, and other disabilities
