Keynote Speaker Promotes Literacy Through Art

Beth Olshansky, director of the Center for the Advancement of Art-Based Literacy at UNH, was the keynote speaker at the fall 2008 New Hampshire Art Educators Association conference. She presented “Picture Writing: Fostering Literacy through Art” and “Image Making Within the Writing Process,” two art-based literacy programs that she developed.
More than 140 teachers attended the event which was held at the New Hampshire Institute of Art in Manchester.
