In recent weeks, Cornucopia put out a call for donations to replenish the
food pantry’s sparse shelves. Now they are looking for help to distribute
food baskets.
Baskets are delivered to families in the university community three times
a year (Thanksgiving, December and spring) in a collaborative effort with Cornucopia,
the Waysmeet Center, the United Campus Ministry, students from the Thompson
School of Applied Science and the Department of Housing.
The goal is to provide more than 100 food baskets to families in need; currently
there are commitments for about 15 baskets.
“We hope you, your friends, work colleagues or other networks might
be able and willing to provide a food basket or cash donation to help us provide
for families this spring,” says
Lisa Ciccotelli of the Office of Community Service and Learning.
For a list of suggested food items go to http://www.unh.edu/cornucopia/pdf/suggested_food_spr08.pdf.
The baskets can be dropped off at the Waysmeet Center, 15 Mill Road, across
from parking lot C or pick up can be arranged by calling Ciccotelli at 2- 0079
or emailing her at lisa.ciccotelli@unh.edu
Donations are due by Tuesday, April 15. Checks can be made out to the Cornucopia
Food Pantry or the Untied Campus Ministry, and are tax deductible.
