Printing Services has received an award for excellence from In-Plant Graphics
for their work on the USNH 2006 Annual Report. The team was recognized
for designing and printing the 32-page document.
In-Plant Graphics is a leading graphic arts magazine aimed at in-plant,
or in-house, reproduction departments. It covers technical and business-related
topics, focusing on publishing, prepress, printing and bindery.
“The team did an exceptional job turning this publication around
in time for the Board of Trustees meeting,” says David Rohde, director
of Printing Services.
Printing Services has a wide range of offerings for the university community
from graphic design to single color printing jobs. Products include business
cards, newsletters, stationary, brochures, books, folders and multiple
part forms, in single to full color on coated or uncoated paper.
The prepress group makes sure alls files are ready to go for the offset
printing process. Fonts are checked, images are optimized, and links are
confirmed. From there the job is electronically assembled and press proofs
are created. Once that’s done and approved, printing plates are made
and the work is sent to press.
The design team handles projects from concept to the finished product.
Their hardware is PC and Macintosh integrated. They work with all the major
publishing software and offer a wide range of type styles.
