New Book Published
September 5, 2007
Psychology professor Rebecca Warner’s statistics textbook “Applied
Statistics: From Bivariate through Multivariate Techniques” was
released on August 30.
In clear, simple language the book answers important conceptual questions
such as why is there variance; what is a partition of variance and what
does it mean to "statistically control" for one variable when
evaluating the nature and strength of association between other variables.
Each chapter focuses on an empirical example (including raw data, SPSS
screen shots, syntax, output, and results section). Instructor ancillary
materials include PowerPoint, a SAS supplement, glossary, comprehension
questions, and (for instructors only) complete answers to comprehension
questions. This book is appropriate for advanced undergraduate and graduate
level courses in statistics for psychologists.
