Bruce Cygan Named UNH Manchester's Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Member

Bruce Cygan has been named the 2007 recipient of UNH Manchester’s
Outstanding Adjunct Faculty Award. Cygan was recognized at the college’s
commencement proceedings on May 15.
The adjunct faculty award recognizes an individual who has made significant
contributions to the college through demonstrated teaching excellence
in a minimum of six undergraduate courses. Students consistently gave
Cygan high marks for his teaching and commitment to student learning.
A resident of Londonderry, Cygan, has been a mainstay of UNH Manchester’s
mathematics instruction since 1997, according to Roberta Kieronski, assistant
professor of mathematics and mathematics program coordinator.
Although retired from teaching in Manchester’s high schools, he
continues to teach undergraduate mathematics courses. He is a respected
teacher, known for his enthusiasm, his ability to motivate and teach a
challenging subject and his commitment to help every student succeed.
Cygan earned his BA from UNH and his MA from Wesleyan University.
