UNH Manchester Business Program Celebrates 5 Years

UNH Manchester celebrated the 5-year anniversary of the
Bachelor of Arts program in Business. The business program
began in the fall of 2002, awarding its first degrees in
2003. Starting with a handful of majors, the program now
represents the largest major on the UNH Manchester campus,
with current majors of 120 at the bachelor degree level,
and 25 associate degree students.
The celebration included a panel discussion by UNH Manchester
business program alumni about the state of the economy and
current financial and economic trends. Panel participants
included: Matt Pouliot, Homeowners Assistance Company, Chris
Hegg, Margarita's restaurants, Jessica LeCat, Americredit,
Gina Weismann, TD Banknorth, Jessica Santos, BAE Systems
and Sarah Allen, Fidelity Investments. Thomas Birch, associate
professor of economics, spoke about 21st century economic
challenges such as globalization, technology, “the
knowledge worker” and demographics.
Keynote speakers included Kevin Clougherty, director of
finance and programs for Primex, the NH Public Risk Management
Exchange, and Elias E. (Skip) Ashooh, an active member in
the business community and member of the Manchester Development
Corporation (MDC).
