Construction continues at the corner of Main Street and College Road where
the driveway for Nesmith Hall is being moved to College Road. New sidewalks
and cross walks are also being done in the area.
Other work in progress includes removing old walkways, installing new
drainage along new sections of the roadway, installing new curbing and
starting to install the electrical conduits to new light pole locations
By July 7, workers will finish removing all the walkway sections which
are to be moved and continue the prep work needed before the new ones can
be put down.
Meanwhile, Fairchild is completely fenced in and renovations to the Main
Street dorm are set to begin.
And the gravel area below is where Pettee House once stood. The former
housing office was demolished earlier this month.
There are no immediate plans for the site. In the Campus Master Plan it is a place holder for a new fire station, but there is no schedule or funding at this time.
