Lawrence Prelli, department of communication, has received a Golden Anniversary Monograph award from the National Communication Association for his monograph "Visualizing a Bounded Sea: A Case Study in Rhetorical Taxis." The monograph appears as chapter 4 in Lawrence J. Prelli, ed., Rhetorics of Display (Columbia, SC: University of South Carolina Press, 2006).

The Golden Anniversary Monograph Awards recognizes the most outstanding scholarly monograph published during the previous calendar year. Monographs or articles may be in any of the areas of the communication arts and sciences.

The recipients receive a plaque.
