Undergraduate Research Conference Registration Underway
December 5, 2007
Faculty and staff are urged to encourage student participation in the ninth
annual Undergraduate Research Conference, which takes place April 18–26,
2008.
Registration is now underway.
The URC casts a spotlight on the research and scholarship of undergraduates
from all of UNH’s schools and colleges, and features symposia, events,
performances, and awards.
To participate, undergraduates or their faculty advisers should register online
at: www.unh.edu/urc.
All undergraduates from Durham and Manchester who have completed or are engaged
in a research, creative, service learning, or capstone project are eligible
and encouraged to take part. Awards, including scholarships, will again be
presented for outstanding projects. Last year, the Undergraduate Research Conference
distributed more than $24,000 in scholarships and awards to student participants
for their award-winning work.
Faculty, teaching assistants, and staff members are urged to identify and
persuade eligible students to participate, as it provides students the opportunity
to prepare for and present research and scholarly findings in a professional
setting, gaining real-life experience, as well as the recognition of peers,
faculty, families, and the general public.
Highlights of URC ’08 include the 17th annual COLSA URC, featuring the
exciting research underway at the College of Life Sciences and Agriculture;
the Naked Arts-Creativity Exposed event, featuring the creative and artistic
compositions of students in the departments of art, music, and theatre and
dance; and the Vice President’s Symposium, where students from all academic
disciplines present their work through poster and oral presentations.
