Call for UNH Authors: Speakers Bureau Opportunities
August 8, 2007
“Searching for Joy”, a work of fiction by TSAS professor Tim Barretto
is the first book to be listed in the new Speakers Bureau category “Books
by UNH Authors.”
The Speakers Bureau is currently seeking UNH faculty and staff authors interested
in listing their published works and speaking to New Hampshire audiences about
them. The Speakers Bureau program connects faculty and staff experts with speaking
engagements around the state in contribution to the outreach mission of the
University.
“By enlisting UNH authors as Speakers Bureau members we are expanding
the University’s ability to serve as a resource to the state, encouraging
the people in our communities to read and creating an opportunity for an interactive
experience with a UNH Speakers Bureau expert,” said program coordinator
Nora Molloy.
These published works, when listed on the Speakers Bureau website, will make
up a new topic category titled “Books by UNH Authors.” Additionally,
all books will be cross-referenced under any other applicable category for
increased exposure. Submitted works can be fiction, non-fiction, reference
or any other genre, and there are no restrictions based on publication date.
The Speakers Bureau and “Books by UNH Authors” category will be
promoted to libraries and other appropriate groups across the state later this
fall.
Interested authors should submit their information to speakers.bureau@unh.edu.
Submissions should include authors name, brief biography of author, book title,
genre (fiction, non fiction, reference, textbook etc.), publisher and publication
date, ISBN number, book content/story description or summation and information
on how or where the book can be purchased.
For more information, Molloy at 2-4401 or n.molloy@unh.edu.
