Earth Day at UNH was marked by the efforts of Oyster River middle and
high school students cleaning up the roadways as they walked to campus;
an Earth Day fair that showcased more than 30 groups and organizations
who are involved in sustainability practices; and three resident halls,
part of the Woodside apartment complex, and Taylor Hall being awarded
the Energy Star rating by the EPA.
Earlier in the day, Democratic presidential candidate and Sen. Barack
Obama visited the UNH DOT Biodiesel Fueling Facility where chemical
engineering student Jay Pearson outlined the university’s numerous
energy projects.
A photo gallery highlighting the day’s events follows.
