Crimes against Children Research Center Receives Grant to Continue Work in Youth Internet Safety

The Crimes against Children Research Center at UNH received a $150,000 grant from Verizon Monday, Dec. 4, to support the center’s ongoing efforts to better understand the evolving security issues of the Internet and how best to protect children from, and educate families about, online dangers.

Pier Project Moves Forward in New Castle; Remaining Grant Funds Will Enhance Current Marine Efforts

Construction has begun on the replacement pier and pier facility operated by UNH in New Castle. The work is funded by a grant originally received from NOAA in 2001.

UNH To Assume Management of Whittemore Center

UNH is repositioning the Whittemore Center Arena, the school’s 7,500-seat on-campus facility, as a sports and recreation facility and will no longer need the assets of the facility management company Global Spectrum. Global Spectrum will continue managing the facility during a transition period, which concludes October 1, 2007.
