UNH Remembers September 11
The UNH Chaplains Association and UNH President's office commemorate the 5th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, events with an inclusive and simple ceremony of prayer, poems, music and reflection. The event will be held Monday, Sept. 11 at 4:30 p.m. on the lawn at Thompson Hall. All are welcome to help our UNH and Durham community mark this important and powerful event in the life of our nation.

Interim President Newman to deliver State of the University Thursday
UNH Interim President J. Bonnie Newman will deliver the annual State of the University Address and recognize the 2006 winners of the Faculty in Excellence Awards tomorrow, Sept. 7, in the Memorial Union Building. Members of the university community and the public are invited to attend the address, which begins at 12:30 p.m. in the Granite State Room. Newman will discuss the university’s goals and challenges in the upcoming year. (09-06-06)

Saul O Sidore Memorial Lecture Series to Focus on Violence Against Women
For more than 40 years the Saul O Sidore Memorial Lecture Series has made it possible for the university to offer both its community and the people of the state of New Hampshire a series of lectures around a critical and sometimes controversial issue facing society. Safe Passage: Colovos Road Underpass Moves Toward Completion

Professor's CIE Trip Lands Her in the Middle of War
Marla Brettschneider, Associate Professor of Political Science and Women’s Studies, received a 2006-07 Center for International Education Faculty International Travel grant funded by the VPAA. She traveled recently to Israel to participate in World Pride, the second of such international GLBT Pride events, and to give three talks on her work related to multiracial, adoptive, queer, Jewish families.
