Whittemore School alumni invited to golf outing
The Whittemore School of Business and Economics will hold an alumni golf tournament Friday, Aug. 23, at the Breakfast Hill Golf Club in Greenland. The alumni event is rescheduled from June because it was rained out. Tee times will be assigned beginning at 12:30 p.m. Cost of the alumni tournament is $50 a person, which includes green fees, range practice balls, and sandwich lunch with soft drink. Info: 2-1983.
Marine Docent Program is seeking volunteers
The Marine Docent Program needs volunteers who love the ocean and want to help others learn about it. No prior experience is required. New docents attend classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning in September, and are educated by university faculty, extension educators and other experts in the marine field. An informational meeting will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 27, at the N.H. Sea Grant office, Kingman Farm on Route 155 in Madbury. Business Services needs volunteers
Business Services is seeking volunteers to help conduct financial clearances for new and returning students Tuesday, Sept. 3, and Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Business Services on the ground floor of Stoke Hall. Who qualifies for the dependent tuition benefit?
Children are considered dependent, if at the time of enrollment, they are unmarried, have not reached age 24, and otherwise meet the legal definition of "dependent" as defined by the Internal Revenue Service.
Electronic reserves available
The Dimond Library Reserve Desk offers electronic reserves scanning to Blackboard-trained faculty. Articles, exams, class notes and other documents are scanned using Adobe Acrobat, with the .pdf files placed on the library server. Faculty then can link to them via their Blackboard page. Health and safety training sessions are available through the Office of Environmental Health and Safety.
