
Associate Professor of History Lu Yan, author of the book, Re-Understanding Japan: Chinese Perspectives, 1895-1945, has made a major contribution to the study of East Asia in America. Lu's study of Chinese-Japanese relations required fluency in two Asian languages plus English.
