Sangita Jhaveri, Class of 2003

Sangita Jhaveri graduated cum laude from UNH with a B.A. in Financial and Managerial Economics. While at UNH, she was the president and founder of the Lotus Indian Dance Troupe, a CONNECT counselor, an active member of the Indian Student Association and a participant and panelist for the Discover UNH program. At UNH, she received the Arts Builds Back Community Award for outstanding outcomes in working with the Lotus Indian Dance Troupe.

Sangita worked as an Upward Bound Counselor. She assisted high school students who were potential first-generation college students and who were also from low-income backgrounds.  She tutored them in the biology and Spanish language.

After graduation, Sangita was selected to be part of the Financial Leadership Development Program at BAE Systems.  Later, she worked in pharmaceutical sales for Pfizer, earning numerous sales awards. During her time at Pfizer, she was actively involved in the Arthritis Foundation.

In addition to working at Pfizer, Sangita has continued to explore her true passion of Indian Dance, and she teaches at Springstep in Medford, Massachusetts, and at a studio in Wakefield. She was recently featured in the Boston Herald and the Wakefield Observer for her entrepreneurial vision in introducing Indian dance to New England communities.

Sangita is currently a volunteer of the Young Alumni Volunteer Association in Boston and, through this organization, has volunteered for the Center for Women’s Enterprise, WGBH, and the Cambridge Center for Families.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends and family.
