On Saturday, May 5, UNH held one of its hallmark events, a banquet, in appreciation of the work that brings continued change to its multicultural community and the entire campus. The accompanying program Many Faces, One Mission: Inclusion demonstrated the progress of Diversity Initiatives and UNH's commitment to excellence as individuals and groups were recognized for their work.
The event was sponsored by the Office of the Provost/Diversity Initiatives. The photos capture the spirit of appreciation that filled the Huddleston Ballroom while honoring the scholarly as well as administrative contributions and programs that transform university campuses as well as surrounding communities.
Keynote speaker Glenda Dickerson, Broadway Playwright and Professor, delivered the celebratory address: "Transforming Through Performing: One Planet, One Thousand Voices".
Next year's event is slated for Saturday, May 3, 2008, with Mrs. Myrna Adams as keynote speaker. Mrs. Adams was appointed in 1968 as the first African American Special Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. 2008 will mark 40 years since the establishment of that position for African American undergraduate students at UNH.
