0% Premium Increase for 2015 Medical Plans for UNH Faculty/Staff
President Huddleston communicated the following news via email sent to Benefits Eligible Faculty and Staff on August 26, 2014
I am pleased to let you know that as a result of your continued diligence in helping the university control rising medical costs there will be no increase in the Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare medical plan premiums in 2015. This is especially significant because health insurance rates nationwide are expected to increase an average of 7.5% for 2015. No changes will be made to the 2015 medical plan benefits or cost-share parameters.
In addition to the medical premiums continuing at their current rates, the University System of New Hampshire will soon announce a new wellness program, MyPath2Wellness, for 2015. This program will provide an opportunity for those electing a Harvard Pilgrim medical plan during open enrollment to reduce their plan premium by up to $400 annually. Employees will need to complete both a biometric screening and an online health questionnaire to participate.
The Tandem Care program will also continue for Harvard Pilgrim members in 2015. This incentive program allows employees to review and select the low cost provider for common outpatient procedures and receive an incentive payment.
