Walk NH at UNH!
On Wednesday, June 4th, UNH celebrated Walk NH Week 2014 with a walk around the UNH campus and town of Durham. UNH joined other groups from throughout New Hampshire in recognizing Walk NH Week 2014 by holding a community walk during the first week of June.

Walk NH Week is an event designed to encourage people of all ages to get out, get moving and participate in a one to three mile community walk. Several years ago, Governor John Lynch proclaimed June 1-7 as Walk NH Week, as a way to promote walking and help keep New Hampshire residents on a healthy path. The goal of Walk NH Week is to inspire participants to continue walking as part of a healthy lifestyle long after the June event’s end. This yearly event aligns perfectly with the work of Healthy UNH, an initiative on campus working to make UNH the healthiest campus community in the country by 2020. One focus of Healthy UNH is to encourage people to get active.
The Walk NH at UNH! event, organized by Healthy UNH and Campus Recreation, will take place from 11:30am-1:30pm on Wednesday, June 4th. Paticipants may register HERE. The walk begins and ends at the UNH Whittemore Center Arena. At participants should check-in inside the lobby of the arena. Due to the chance of rain, the concourse of the Whittemore Arena will be available to walk, but the course is marked and ready to for you to enjoy.
Be sure to let your friends, family and co-workers know about this special event!
Healthy UNH water bottles will be available for participants while supplies last. Dining Services will provide healthy snacks and Harvard Pilgrim will offer a skin cancer screening activity.
