HIV Testing and Counseling

Clinical appointments are available to students. For students who have paid the health fee, there is no cost in addition to the $25 test fee.

Education, a Resource Library, and online resources are available to students experiencing grief and loss.

Gambling Cessation

Wellness educators/counselors are available to provide counseling and resources to students who are concerned about their gambling, and is free for students who have paid the health fee. There is a fee for students who have not paid the health fee.

Body Image Education and Counseling

UNH students come in all different sizes, shapes and colors. Learning to love the body you were born with is an important step in taking care of yourself. Wellness educators/counselors and nutrition counselors are available for one-on-one counseling to help you to enhance your body image. Education and information is available for free to the UNH community. Counseling is available at no cost to students who have paid their health fee and at a cost for students who have not paid their health fee.

Biofeedback

Biofeedback technology uses electronic equipment to measure and monitor changes in one’s internal physiological state while teaching breathing, relaxation and meditation exercises. Individual sessions with a computer-based biofeedback program are available at no cost to current UNH students who have paid the health fee and UNH/USNH employees and their dependents.

Anger Management

Health Services provides self-referred or mandated anger management counseling for students. It is available at no additional cost to self-referring students who have paid their health fee. There is a $50 charge for students who are mandated to participate.

Allergy Services

Allergy shots and routine immunizations are available to faculty, staff, and students and all employees for a fee.  Health Services will bill insurance.  The remaining cost is the responsibility of the patient. Students must bring their orders and serum to the first appointment and may store their serum at Health Services.

Alcohol and Other Drugs Education and Counseling

The Alcohol and Other Drugs Education and Counseling Program aims to provide accurate and current information to the UNH Community about alcohol and other drugs. The program covers the full range of risks associated with high risk alcohol use including the legal, academic, social and physical impacts.  Services are available for those who self-refer and for those who are mandated to participate and are led by wellness educators/counselors.

After Hours Medical Care

During the academic year, Heath Services has an agreement with Team Health Medical Call Center to provide after-hours nurse triage services for students whose medical needs cannot wait for Health Services to reopen.

How To Access:

Medical Emergency: dial 911

Minor Illness & Injury: call Health Services at (603) 862-9355 and press 2. you will be automatically connected to the Team Health Medical Call
Center.

Academic Support

If academic performance is affected by illness, students can consult with the community health nurse to learn about their academic options. This program is available at no additional cost to students who have paid the health fee. There is a fee for students who have not paid the health fee.
