MUB Movies Provide Comic Relief
By: Gabby Chesney
It’s been said that laughter is the best medicine. Although this statement might be a bit of a stretch, laughter does have several proven health benefits. An article was released by helpguide.org explaining the health benefits of laughter.

My Experience Using England’s Healthcare
By: Courtney Eaton
On Tuesday, the 22nd I went to the Soho NHS Walk-In Clinic of London and was able to experience the difference between the US healthcare and that of London first-hand. Since my arrival in London I have had this cold that I just could not kick. It seemed to be getting worse and I feared a sinus infection, so I eventually went to the Soho NHS Walk-in Medical Clinic. First, let me note that Soho is a fantastic part of the city; my favorite part thus far.

The Snow-Day Workout
By: Jenna Lindsey Channell
As I was sitting in my apartment, cooped up during the crazy snowstorm we had this weekend here in Durham and I started thinking about how I can get a workout without having to trek across campus to the gym. I also did not have the tools to ski or snowshoe, so how could I exercise at all?

Health Costs and Healthcare in the US and Italy
By: Ann Steeves
The cost of healthcare is a huge issue on the national stage as the United States tries to come to terms with its overwhelming state of national debt. Concern is growing especially among young people who will be given the task of dealing with the mounting debt. The nation’s debt comes from many sources, but healthcare is a big contributor. Healthcare costs exceed nearly 20% of U.S. GDP; a staggering estimated $2 trillion annually.

Relationships Improve Mental Health
By: Haeley Stewart
Roses are red, violets are blue, Valentine's Day is coming, in only a few! Excuse my lame attempt at a poem, but whether you like it or not Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Some people are excited to take their significant others out for a special date and others are sitting in their room stewing over how this is the world's stupidest holiday. Whether you are pro-Valentine's Day or completely against it, there is no denying that it takes a toll on your mental health in some way.

Skipping Class Actually Costs Money
By: Kim Mayo
As the temperature starts to drop, it seems that our immune system also goes down with it. Living in a dorm room, late nights in the library, and eating in the same locations is ideal for the germs also living at UNH. Getting sick often gives students the excuse to miss class. It is true that we are thinking about the other students in class and don’t want to get them sick, but have you ever thought about how much money you are losing?

The “Other Side” of The Gym
By: Kim Mayo
Right when you walk into the gym at the Rec Center it is clear that there is a gender divide. Typically the men are towards the right in the free weight and bench press area, while the women are towards the left with the aerobic equipment and assisted weight machines. Unfortunately, it seems out of the norm when an individual of the opposite gender crosses over into that other section. This subtle move takes a lot of confidence and should be applauded!

Organic Garden Club
By: Haeley Stewart
Organic foods and organic practices are receiving quite a lot of attention lately. I know I can't walk down the grocery store without seeing organic labels on food as well as advertising for "going organic" everywhere. Maybe you have no idea what being organic means and are interested in finding out, or maybe you already are an organic eater and want to spread awareness to others. Either way, those of you interested in eating organic or learning more about what it means to eat organically, this organization at UNH deserves your attention.

Explorations in Nutrition and Culture
By: Madeleine Gould
Are you a nutrition student who is itching to go abroad, but can’t seem to find a place for it in your busy schedule? This is a problem many nutrition students run into. Class scheduling is rigorous with the amount of classes nutrition majors have to take, and many times, students miss out on studying abroad because they feel like they have limited time.
