In the current economic times, people are looking anywhere they can to cut costs in their life.  According to research conducted by the Milken Institute, more than half of Americans suffer from at least one chronic disease, many of which are preventable. According to calculations by the Milken Institute these diseases cost Americans and the government $1.3 trillion annually. This money comes out of the pockets of Americans as well as from the government, affecting every American in one way or another.

Over the years Vitamin D has not been one of the most commonly talked about vitamins. Despite not being a frequent topic of discussion among the general public, Vitamin D plays a critical role in health. According to the University of Maryland Medical Center, Vitamin D has many health benefits. One of the main roles Vitamin D plays is aiding in calcium absorption and bone health. Without adequate Vitamin D a person runs the risk of developing weak and misshapen bones or even Osteoporosis.

With spring break on the horizon there has been a lot of talk on campus about the various vacations and adventures people will be embarking on. Don’t have a wild adventure planned yet? Don’t worry, there is plenty of time left this semester for a mini-trip and Outdoor Adventures has you covered. Outdoor Adventures offers day and overnight trips throughout the year. Some of the trips still to come this semester include an overnight canoe trip at Squam Lake, a day trip bouldering at Lincoln Woods and a day of Rock Climbing in Rumney!
