How I approach my work with students
College is a time filled with choices and possibilities; learning new ways of being in the world, realizing undiscovered parts of yourself, facing unforeseen challenges, and learning from your mistakes. Helping you see you own inherent goodness and potential is what I hope will happen when you and I meet.
To me, Health Education is about helping you gain new information about what it means to be a healthy, thriving human being. I hope to provide you with adequate reflection so that in gaining insight into your own life map you will continue to develop the essential life skills needed to flourish in today’s world. Seeing life through a lens that provides hopeful new perspectives often takes purposeful patience, listening to your own intuitive knowing about what it means to be healthy, and the courage and understanding that change is a dynamic and challenging process.
Why a student wants to see me
Here are a few reasons why you might want to talk with me:
- Because you are feeling stressed out and want to develop new coping strategies and skills.
- Because you are in a relationship and want to learn how to better communicate with your partner.
- Because you are asking questions about your sexual orientation or gender identity.
- Because you want to learn how to meditate.
- Because you are a man and want to talk about being male in today’s culture and society.

How we take care of ourselves:
I love being outdoors. I walk the beach, swim, ride my bike, rollerblade, and run. I mediate and do yoga, eat well and get plenty of sleep. I nap when I can, and I enjoy reading and watching movies. Spending time with my partner, family, and friends also nourishes my soul. I am also a watercolor Artist and enjoy having this creative outlet in my life.
