The Office of Health Education and Promotion, Health Services is hiring work study student employees for the 2009/2010 academic year.
A new position we have available is a Multimedia Designer. Specifically, we are looking for a student(s) to assist the department with creating health/wellness educational videos geared towards UNH/college students. There may be one or more of these positions available, based on department needs.

Multimedia Designer
Position title: Multimedia Designer
Location: Office of Health Education and Promotion, Health Services
Hours: Hours for this position are flexible and will be dependent on projects being created. Our department understands that academics always come first.
Pay: Staring hourly rate is $11.00
Description: Collaborate with staff to create and design health and wellness educational multimedia videos for use on the Health Services Web site and for educational programming around the University community.
Responsibilities for positions include:
- Meet with staff to collaborate and generate creative ideas
- Advise staff on what is technically possible and make appropriate recommendations
- Function as video camera operator, lighting expert and sound recorder
- Edit materials and assist staff with packaging for use on web site and around campus (DVDs)
- Assure deadlines are met in a reasonable timeframe
- Other duties, as assigned
Successful candidates should:
- Be eligible for the Federal Work/Study program
- Have an interest in graphic design and multimedia design
- Have an interest in health and wellness issues (nutrition, sexual health, wellness, alcohol, tobacco, other drugs)
- Have knowledge and experience working with iMovie, iDVD, Quick Time and Final Cut
- Have knowledge and experience working with Adobe Creative Suite applications and Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of electronics to understand the operation and maintenance of video equipment
- Knowledge of techniques and processes required in video production and editing
- Be creative and able to think “outside the box”
- Have en “eye for detail”
- Be reliable and able to work independently and on a team
- Be professional and able to maintain confidentiality

Wellness Assistant
Position title: Wellness Assistant
Location: Office of Health Education and Promotion, Health Services
Hours: 8-10 hours, per week during academic year. Schedules are flexible, as academics always come first.
Pay: Staring hourly rate is $8.50
Description: Assist staff with creating and implementing health and wellness programs and educational materials for the University community.
Responsibilities for positions include:
- Provide administrative support to staff of 10
- Design health education poster, flyers, display boards and PowerPoint presentations
- Represent Health Services at educational tables and programs around campus
- Collaborate with staff to create written content for Health Services Web site and educational materials
- Assist staff with organizing, creating, and on occasion, presenting educational programs to students
- Conduct research using Dimond Library online databases
- Manage Health Services Resource Library
- Make deliveries around campus
- Photocopying, filing and other duties, as assigned
Successful candidates should:
- Be eligible for the Federal Work/Study program
- Be reliable and able to work at least 8-10 hours per week (during the academic year)
- Have an interest in health and wellness issues (nutrition, sexual health, wellness, alcohol, tobacco, other drugs)
- Have experience working with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Publisher and Access
- Be skilled in conducting research
- Pay close attention to detail and organization
- Be professional and able to maintain confidentiality
