UNH is located off US Route 4

From I-95 South (Maine), take Exit 5 (in NH) to the Spaulding Turnpike (Route 16N), then take Exit 6W (Route 4 West) towards Durham to the Exit for Route 155A. At the bottom of the ramp take a left. Follow Main Street approximately 1 mile (through roundabout). At traffic light, turn right onto College Road. Follow direction to Ritzman Lab.

From the West, take Route 101 East to Exit 7 (Route 125 North). Follow Route 125 North to the traffic circle. Take Route 4 East to the Durham Exit (2 miles)(Route 155A). At the bottom of the ramp take a right. Follow Main Street approximately 1 mile (through roundabout). At traffic light, turn right onto College Road. Follow directions to Ritzman Lab.

Direct campus Rail Access from Boston to Portland and Brunswick, Maine
For those coming from the Boston-Portland corridor, the Amtrak Downeaster makes 5 daily roundtrips to the heart of campus.   Ritzman Lab is a 10 minute walk from the Durham-UNH station.

Directions to Ritzman Lab

Go approximately 1/3 mile and take right onto South Drive. After underpass, turn right onto Waterworks Road. Go approximately 600 feet and turn left onto Colovos Road. Drive past a line of diagonal parking spaces (on right) and turn right immediately before the Chase Ocean Engineering Laboratory. Ritzman Lab is the white masonry block building on the right.

There are a limited number of "guest parking" spaces in front. Please contact us prior to your visit to see if a space will be available. When you arrive please enter through the central door on the two-story portion of the building. Our administrative staff are on the left upon entering the building. You need to obtain a parking pass from them to place in your vehicle. If a guest parking space is not available you will need to use the Visitor Parking at UNH, as described below.  Campus Planning is located on the 1st floor.

Visitor Parking at UNH

Parking for visitors is available at Lot H (124 Main Street – access around corner on Edgewood Road), Lot C (3 Mill Road)  or at the Visitor Information Center (295 Mast Road).  Lot H and Lot C are attendant controlled. UNH currently charges $1/hour for visitor parking.

Visitor lots require payment 7:00 am- 6:00 pm.  On-street parking meters require payment 6:00 am – 6:00 pm

Lot C (3 Mill Road) and H Lot (3 Edgewood Road):
Pay in advance (cash only) by the hour -  4 hour limit.

Visitor Information Center (295 Mast Road):
Parking meters at the Visitor Center  with a change machine available inside the Visitor Center.  Day passes available during business hours.  8 hour limit.

Other Campus Meters
Visitors are also welcome to use any available (vacant and unreserved) parking meters around campus.  Meter maximums vary from 1 to 4 hours.

Walking Directions from H Lot Visitor Parking to Ritzman Lab
Exit from H Lot to sidewalk on Main Street by New Hampshire Hall. Cross Main Street (controlled intersection) to College Road. Proceed to Library Way (Pettee Hall on corner) taking right. Continue under rail road bridge bearing left onto Colovos Road past athletic field on right. At intersection of Colovos Road and Waterworks Road, bear right. Walk past a line of diagonal parking spaces (on right) and turn right immediately before the Chase Ocean Engineering Laboratory. Ritzman Lab is the white masonry block building on the right. Enter through the central door on the two-story portion of the building. Our administrative staff is on the left upon entering the building. Campus Planning is on the 1st floor.
