We're looking for a staff writer to join the team at Modern Farmer, www.modfarmer.com, a new print quarterly and website dedicated to farming and food. The magazine and digital brand will cover the "new food culture" -- telling stories about the technology, history, culture, trends, people, animals and issues relevant to people who care about where their food comes from.

Qualified candidates for the staff writer position will have:

• The ability to develop, write, and edit top-quality articles for our website
• Knowledge of global agriculture and farming space, and the ability to write about these topics for a mass-market audience
• Ability to hit daily and weekly deadlines
• 2-3 years experience with daily blogging, news aggregation, and use of social media
• Ability to work independently in a news environment, with solid editorial judgement
