Lead Farm Educator
The Jewish Farm School and Eden Village Camp are seeking an inspiring and effective Lead Educator to develop and oversee educational programs on the Farm at Eden Village.
Who You Are:
Ideal candidates will demonstrate:
Inspiration, creativity, and effectiveness;
Have at least two years experience in leading Jewish/outdoor/experiential/garden based educational programming;
Knowledge of Jewish tradition and practices, particularly related to food, farming and the environment;
Ability to develop and train others in experiential curriculum;
Excellent facilitation in meaningful content to a wide range of ages that connect Jewish thought and traditions with agriculture and food;
Song leading and/or story telling experience;
Organization, flexibility, and interest in working with a team.
Oversee and maintain a high standard of quality for the educational programming on the farm. This includes our weekly homeschool sessions, Sunday programs, off site programs, and summer camp activities, among others;
Work with other farm staff to meet program goals;
Train Farm Educator Apprentices in our curriculum;
Oversee the expansion of various educational agricultural projects;
Design and implement new educational elements on the farm;
Evaluate the various farm programs throughout the season;
Play a leading role in facilitating group experiences for the farm educator apprentices
Weekly salary of $275 and up depending on experience. Health insurance subsidy and professional development funds are also available. Lead Educator will also be provided with shared housing and access to a kitchen, plus all meals when the camp kitchen is open.
*This position will begin February 15th and continue through October with possibilities to become year-round.
