SNAP/EBT at Farmers’ Markets Program
Seacoast Eat Local’s SNAP/EBT at Farmers’ Market program provides the
opportunity for recipients of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
to use their Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards at five area farmers’ markets:
Dover, Exeter, and Portsmouth in the summer season (in partnership with Seacoast
Growers Association, the market organizers), and at Seacoast Eat Local’s winter
markets in Exeter and Rollinsford.

West Side Campaign Against Hunger is an innovative, customer-choice food pantry and social service counseling service. We provide more than 1.3 million pounds of food annually to clients from across New York City. The Food Director performs an essential role of insuring that food received by clients at our pantry is of the highest quality, fresh, healthy, sanitary and appealing. The Food Director leads a team of employees and volunteers toward the goal of assisting our customers lead healthy lives.

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank is seeking two AmeriCorps VISTAs to be Community Organizers supporting the Ohio Benefit Bank. Recognized as one of the most successful application completion assistance programs in the nation, The Ohio Benefit Bank™, a program of the Ohio Association of Foodbanks, trains 2,000 counselors every year to assist people in obtaining state and federal benefits like food assistance, health care coverage, tax credits, and more. The Ohio Benefit Bank (OBB™) is available at about 1,300 sites spread throughout all of Ohio's 88 counties.

The NYC Health Department is seeking enthusiastic consultants to assist with the implementation of nutrition and cooking workshops at farmers' markets across NYC. 

The consultant positions are paid and part-time from late June - November 2013.

Lansing City Market is seeking an experienced individual to fill the full-time summer AmeriCorps position through the Power of We Consortium. This service member would manage volunteers, develop classes on growing food and plants to be a part of existing nutrition programs, and work on outreach programs at the market.
