The Worcester County Food Bank (WCFB) is the leading anti-hunger organization in Worcester County distributing over 5 million pounds of donated food annually to a Network of Partner Agencies that have programs for feeding people including food pantries, community meal sites, and shelters. In fiscal year 2012, WCFB and the Hunger-Free Network of Partner Agencies provided food assistance to 99,500 people, including 33,800 children. WCFB and its Network also advocate for sustainable and systemic solutions to hunger with leaders at the local, state, and federal levels.

The Agency Relations Coordinator has lead responsibility for customer service and support to the WCFB's Partner Agencies. The Coordinator is responsible for Partner Agency compliance with the WCFB Partnership Agreement, training around food safety and best practices in food distribution and referrals to community nutrition resources, and collaborating with Partner Agencies in the WCFB's mission to engage, educate and lead Worcester County in creating a hunger-free community. This position reports to the Director of Operations and requires local travel and some evening hours throughout the year.

Accountabilities

  • Serve as the dedicated contact for WCFB Partner Agencies.
  • Provide ongoing technical and operational assistance while promoting effective communication between the Partner Agency and the WCFB.
  • Maintain Partner Agency database, agreements, files and data collection system.
  • Prepare and distribute communications to all Partner Agencies.
  • Conduct regular site visits to Partner Agency programs.
  • Organize Partner Agency events such as the Hunger-Free Network Meetings and the Annual Partner Agency Conference.
  • Assist people in accessing emergency food assistance over the phone and in person.
  • B.A. or equivalent with experience in the human service field.
  • Valid MA driver's license and access to car is necessary.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills including public speaking.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) ability helpful.
  • Must demonstrate sensitivity to people experiencing hunger, initiative, good judgment, attention to detail, solid problem-solving skills, and a commitment to WCFB mission.

Qualifications
