Headquartered in New York, Butter Beans Inc. provides healthy meals and food education for bodies and minds through our tasty, nutrient-rich Butter Beans Food Service program for school meals and snacks, Butter Beans Food & Garden Summer Camp and After-School Cooking Classes aimed at improving the health and welfare of children today.
We are seeking After-School Cooking Teachers who are passionate about healthy eating and cooking, childhood nutrition, and posses a love for educating children on healthy food preparation. This position will report to the Director of Wellness + Food Education.
The ideal candidate: will posses excellent communication skills, teaching capabilities, classroom management skills, and is a team player, problem solver, resourceful, dependable, dynamic, has a strong work ethic, and a good sense of humor.
Job details:
- Lead after-school cooking classes, which include teaching culinary skills, nutrition information, food facts, and how food grows.
- Ensure all materials are ready for class each week.
- Ensure the health and safety of all the students during class: good hygiene, food safety, and responsible use of knives.
- Encourage students to try new foods in a fun and safe environment.
Time commitment: This position is available during the school year (September-June), with the potential of further opportunities.
