Outreach

The University makes its expertise and its experts available to serve the public good through our research and teaching programs and interdisciplinary institutes. Student interns serve in organizations such as Seacoast Outright, Black Heritage Trail, and others.

Over the last three years, the Office of the Vice President for Research and Public Service under the leadership of Drs. Julie E. Williams, Associate V.P and Cameron Wake, faculty fellow, have developed a collaborative partnership with Elizabeth City State University (a historically black university) capitalizing on mutual strengths in "remote sensing" and "earth system science" and locations near the New Hampshire and North Carolina coastal regions. This partnership has submitted a series of grants to NSF and NASA, participated in joint NASA cyberconferences, and involves a number of faculty from several disciplines at UNH & ECSU. These types of collaborative efforts are continuing to be developed.
