Research and Engagement Academy Scholars Honored

Provost Lisa MacFarlane; Julie Williams, senior vice provost for engagement and academic outreach; and Eleanor Abrams, executive director of engagement and faculty development at the Research and Engagement Academy held May 2.

Faculty members who participated in the 4th annual Research and Engagement Academy were recognized May 2 during a celebration at Huddleston Hall.

“The academy represents what is best about UNH: our faculty,” Eleanor Abrams, executive director of engagement and faculty development in the Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Engagement and Academic Outreach, said during Friday’s ceremony.

The academy is a semester-long faculty development program that has scholars, guided by coaches with established track records of external funding, participating in six day-long workshops and making the commitment to submit competitive grant proposals.

This year, 22 faculty members attended, supported by 11 scholarly coaches.  The faculty members include:

The academy is one of several programs offered by the Office of the Senior Vice Provost for Engagement and Academic Outreach to help support scholarship and engagement.

“This is the season of thanks, celebration and gratitude for all the things that have been happening all year long,” Provost Lisa MacFarlane said.
