Marx Named Director of the University Honors Program

Jerry Marx has been named director of the University Honors Program. A faculty member in the department of social work, Marx founded the UNH Center for Professional Excellence in Child Welfare, a university-state child welfare training partnership. He also served as department chair for six years and is currently serving as a faculty fellow in the College of Health and Human Services, leading their communication efforts.

“Jerry has been an exceptional faculty member and a visionary in assisting faculty and students understand the changing nature of higher education in the college. Under his leadership, I am confident that the Honors Program will continue to strive for excellence,” says P.T. Vasudevan, senior vice provost for Academic Affairs.

Marx replaces current director professor Sean Moore who will pursue a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Fellowship at the American Antiquarian Society in Worcester and a grant from the Newport Mansions.  He will return to teach at UNH in the fall 2015 semester.
