Water Quality Monitors Needed

Monday, April 28, 2014

The Oyster River water quality monitoring program is seeking volunteers to help monitor the Oyster River and its tributaries. The program is sponsored by UNH Water Supply, Oyster River Watershed Association, and the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services.

Volunteers are needed to collect monthly water samples and record data on water clarity, levels of dissolved oxygen and other substances, and acidity at various sites along the river this summer and fall. Volunteers can be involved at different levels, depending on interest and time available. Training is provided.

For information and to volunteer, contact Emily Poworoznek at el@unh.edu or 2-4168.
