3,500 New Hampshire Students to Attend UNH Anti-Bullying Event Nov. 15

Gov. Maggie Hassan and state Sen. Martha Fuller Clark will join 3,500 middle and high school students and teachers from across New Hampshire to take a stand against all forms of bullying at the STAND UP New Hampshire event Friday, Nov. 15 at the Whittemore Center.

Hassan has proclaimed the week of Nov. 18 Anti-Bullying Week.

UNH Cooperative Extension bullying and civility expert Malcolm Smith is co-chair of the event that will feature keynote addresses, performances, a student-led caucus, awards, and other presentations. Doors open at 8 a.m.; program runs from 9 a.m.to 12:30 p.m.

Speakers include Hassan, Martha Fuller Clark, U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (video address), keynote speakers Lizzy Velasquez, author and motivational speaker, and Regan Hartley, Miss New Hampshire 2011.
