The Cornucopia Food Pantry is once again asking the UNH community to help out their own during the Thanksgiving holiday by making donations to fill food baskets for those in need. During these tough economic times, many individuals and families can use your help.

Cornucopia’s 2011-2012 fall, holiday and spring food drive gathered enough food to fill 525 baskets, providing more than $52,000 worth of food to an estimated 2,100 people.

Offices and departments around campus are now collecting food. If your office isn’t participating, you can put together your own basket or team up with coworkers. Groceries also can be dropped off at the food pantry, located in the Waysmeet Center at15 Mill Road. A list of suggested foods can be found at http://cornucopia.unh.edu/pdf/fall2012_foodlist.pdf

Donations for Thanksgiving baskets are being accepted through Monday, Nov. 19. Financial donations and gift certificates also are welcome. Checks can be made payable to the Cornucopia Food Pantry, and all donations are tax deductible.

The food drive is done in partnership with the Office of Community Service and Learning.

Anyone who needs assistance can request a food basket filling out a request form (http://cornucopia.unh.edu/pdf/fall2012_request.pdf ) and mailing it to Waysmeet Center at 15 Mill Road or e-mailing the information to waysmeet@comcast.net

Volunteers are needed to help assemble the food baskets and to make deliveries. Read more at http://cornucopia.unh.edu/news.html#fall.
