Health Services Employee Clinic Can Meet Many Health Care Needs

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

If you haven’t gotten your flu shot yet and don’t want to wait for the next on-campus clinic (Oct. 17), you may want to call Health Services and make an appointment at the employee clinic.

Maybe you’ve got that sore throat thing that’s going around; maybe it’s strep. You can find out at the employee clinic, most often getting an appointment on the same day, or within 24 hours.  What’s more, you can check test results online.

Employees can use Health Services for routine lab tests or x-rays (even when ordered by your PCP or other provider); $5 generic prescriptions as well as a number of non-prescription medications at reduced cost; including worker’s compensation injuries.

Massage therapy ($45 traditional, $55 hot stone) also is available. More information can be found at www.unh.edu/health-services/ohep/massage.html

Services are available for current employees and their dependents. (Dependants are spouses or domestic partners, and children aged 18 years or older, who are living in the same household and/or are dependents on the employee’s insurance plan.)  You don’t need a referral from your primary care doctor to use the clinic if you are covered by Harvard Pilgrim.

The employee clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. for clinical visits and 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. for laboratory services. Services are also available when the clinic space is closed; call 862-HLTH (4584) to schedule an appointment.

Health Services is a participating provider with Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Cigna and some Anthem plans. Check with your insurance provider to be sure that your visits to Health Services will be covered.
