Employee Clinic Can Meet Many Health Care Needs

Employee Clinic Can Meet Many Health Care Needs

Wednesday, October 10, 2012

If you haven’t gotten your flu shot yet and don’t want to wait for the next opportunity on campus (Oct. 17), you may want to call Health Services and make an appointment at the employee clinic.

You also can use the clinic when you’re not feeling well--in most cases, you can get an appointment the same day—or if you get hurt at work, and for routine lab tests or x-rays even when ordered by your PCP or another provider. Generic prescription drugs are available for $5. A number of non-prescription medications are offered as well at lower prices than you might pay elsewhere.

Services are available for current employees and their dependents. (Dependants are spouses or domestic partners, and children aged 18 years or older, who are living in the same household and/or are dependents on the employee’s insurance plan.)

The employee clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. for clinical visits and 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. for laboratory services. Services are also available when the clinic space is closed; call 862-HLTH (4584) to schedule an appointment.

Health Services is a participating provider with Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Cigna and some Anthem plans. Check with your insurance provider to be sure that your visits to Health Services will be covered.

If you have Harvard Pilgrim insurance, you don’t need a referral from your primary care doctor to visit the clinic.
